University of Georgia Rutherford Hall

Athens, Georgia

Rutherford Hall was a substantial project for both UGA and Juneau. Controversy swirled among preservationist surrounding the decision to tear down the existing Rutherford Hall and rebuild the exact footprint. Because of this Juneau, took special care to ensure we reused pertinent building components while rebuilding the new Rutherford Hall. The award-winning, 81,000 square foot residence hall has 261 beds, RA apartments, a library, computer lab, community kitchens, study areas, two parlors, two covered porches and two laundry rooms. UGA’s Franklin Residential College, is a residential college which is housed in the new Rutherford Hall.

Juneau was exceptional in their communication efforts with the variety of constituents involved in a project of this magnitude. We always felt informed and knew Juneau would resolve any problems that popped up. Juneau has proven time and time again to take the concerns of the University to heart while ensuring our standards, schedules, and budgets are maintained. Juneau Construction has become a valuable team member to the University of Georgia and I would highly recommend them as a well versed construction company.
