UGA’s Russell Hall Project Wins CMAA South Atlantic Project Achievement Award
University of Georgia’s Russell Hall renovation won the CMAA South Atlantic Project Achievement Award in the public renovation category. The original 9-story, 230,000 square foot high-rise residence hall, remains standing and was originally constructed in the 1960’s. The building underwent a massive renovation, including re-purposing and re-configuring all living, bathroom, and some programmatic spaces. The renovation also included a complete update of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as well as new windows, elevators, and roof replacement to update the building to the twenty-first century.
