The National Center for Civil and Human Rights Expansion

Atlanta, Georgia

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights is expanding its mission, reach, and its facilities. The multi-story West Wing expansion will include space for several new galleries, a café, retail space, and existing exhibits. The East Wing expansion will be two stories and house a new multifunctional innovation lab with classrooms to host the Center’s trainings, conferences, and events. It is also set to include ticketing, storage and mechanical spaces. In addition to the expansion, more than 14,000 square feet of existing space will undergo enhancement renovations including a new activation lab and upgrades and expansions to existing exhibits.

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights believes in justice and dignity for all – and the power of people to make this real. We inspire visitors and our other audiences with immersive exhibitions, dynamic events and conversations, and engagement and education/training programs.

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights Expansion and Renovation was always about more than construction.

This project represents years of collaboration, innovation, and purpose. Our team navigated the complexities of building an addition with no right angles all while keeping The Center open to visitors during construction.

Watch how this vision became reality and how, together, we helped shape a space that continues to inspire reflection, learning, and change.
