Star Metals Residences Topping Out
The Allen Morris Company and Juneau Construction Company recently celebrated the topping out of Star Metals Residences, the residential component of West Midtown’s visionary Star Metals mixed-use development.
As the project reached its “last beam” of the building’s highest structural element, this traditional topping-out celebration was held as a way to honor the subcontractors working on the project.
“A topping-out ceremony like this is one of the ways that we show our continued appreciation for all the skillful and hard-working men and women who are helping to bring this amazing project to life,” Les Juneau, President of Juneau Construction Company, said. “All of us at Juneau are proud to know that the work we are doing at Star Metals Atlanta is raising the profile and changing the face of Atlanta. We are making a lasting impact.”
Subcontractors and project team members enjoyed a catered BBQ lunch, a raffle with dozens of prizes given away and took part in the topping-out tradition of penning their names on one of the building’s final exterior panels.
“We are so proud to have reached this milestone in the development of the Star Metals District,” W. Allen Morris, Chairman and CEO of The Allen Morris Company, said. “We are passionate about creating both a living and a work environment that enhances the extraordinary neighborhood of West Midtown Atlanta. Everyone involved with Star Metals is both humbled and grateful to the residents and City officials who have been so encouraging throughout this process.”
“To have the opportunity of working with such an outstanding group of professionals, on a project the magnitude of Star Metals is a privilege,” Nathan Hedges, Managing Director, Development for The Allen Morris Company in Georgia, said. “The excitement of the project reaching this stage of evolution is truly special. It makes us all the more excited about the whole of the Star Metals District.”
The visionary Star Metals Residences is part of the transformative 4.75-acre Star Metals Atlanta development that also includes Star Metals Offices, the 14-story, Class-A office tower totaling 260,000 square feet that includes 35,000 square feet of retail and restaurants and the 176-key Star Metals Hotel. Star Metals Residences will begin to welcome its initial residents this summer, with full completion of the second phase scheduled for the first quarter of 2021.
