Juneau places great importance on creating a strong foundation for our employees development and there is no better way to do so than in our internship and co-op programs.

We offer internship and co-op positions in Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters to give students real-world experience to jump-start their careers and support their academic curriculum. Our construction management internship and co-op programs may include time in Preconstruction, VDC, and Operations. Career Paths

The job descriptions below outline the responsibilities of the various entry-level new graduate positions with Juneau.

Preconstruction

The Preconstruction Engineer’s role is to assist the Preconstruction Manager, Project Manager and other operations staff members with preconstruction pursuits – from lump-sum hard bids to preliminary CM at Risk budgets. Preconstruction Engineers are primarily responsible for quantity take-offs, subcontractor solicitation, and scope analysis on assigned projects.

Project Management

The Project Engineer’s role is to assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with the overall management of the project’s execution with emphasis on coordination of work, procurement of materials and subcontractors, review of submittals and shop drawings, the identification and resolution of design conflicts, document control, participation in OAC and jobsite meetings, and the project closeout process.

Field Operations

The Field Engineer’s role is to assist the Superintendent in organizing the jobsite to promote maximum productivity, including leading field crews, executing the safety and quality control programs, VDC integration in the field, development and execution of the overall master construction schedule, meeting with inspectors, and exposure to project engineering and management tasks for professional and career development.

Virtual Design + Construction

The Virtual Design and Construction Coordinator’s role is to assist the project operations team and VDC manager in the development and execution of the BIM coordination plan. VDC coordinators are primarily responsible for laser scanning new and existing conditions, development of Revit models as required by the project, clash detection, and coordination meeting documentation and follow up.

Safety

The Safety Engineer’s role is to assist the safety department and project team in the development, management, and coordination of safety related systems to successfully navigate high-risk activities in the field, such as: cranes, fall protection, scaffolding, excavations, fire prevention, concrete, electrical, and more.

Corporate

Corporate roles at Juneau may include positions in Marketing and Business Development, Accounting, Risk Management, and Human Resources. These roles vary by position but play a huge role in the overall success of the company.
